Jefferson Avenue Tops In Buffalo To Reopen
The Tops Markets grocery store on Jefferson Avenue in Buffalo's Kingsley neighborhood, which has been closed for nearly two months since the act of domestic terror took away ten lives, is planning to reopen soon.
During the time the store had been closed, Tops and its parent company Northeast Grocery, made some significant changes inside the store to improve the quality of the store in general and pay homage to the lives that were lost as a result of the racist attack that happened on May 14, 2022.
The store is set to reopen on Friday, July 15, 2022, and that will mark the return of one of the few grocery stores that are on Buffalo's east side. Officials have not given a time for the reopening of the store and officials plan to have a quiet and respectful reopening to the market.
The store has been completed remodeled and many will not recognize the inside as the store they had visited before. Buffalo Mayor Byron Brown visited the store recently and mentioned how things had changed significantly.
The store looks completely different inside, it does not look like the same store on the interior and there are also substantial exterior renovations being done
-Byron W. Brown, Mayor of Buffalo, New York
