Jerry Hughes Will Not Return To Buffalo; Signs With Another Team

The Buffalo Bills did some retooling this off-season. They kept many of the same players in place, such as Josh Allen, Stefon Diggs, Dion Dawkins, Dawson Knox, Micah Hyde, Jordan Poyer, Tremaine Edumnds, Matt Milano, Tre'Davious White and Taron Johnson to name a few.

However, the Bills added the likes of Von Miller, Tim Settle, Jordan Phillips, Rodger Saffold, Jamison Crowder and O.J. Howard to bolster both sides of the ball.

The Bills did not re-sign a few fan-favorites, including edge rusher Jerry Hughes.

Hughes has been with the Bills since 2013, after being drafted by the Indianapolis Colts in 2010.

He's been one of the fans' favorite defensive players through the end of the 17-year playoff drought, and into the new era for Bills football, which saw them make the playoffs three of the past four seasons.

Hughes will not return to Buffalo. He's signed a free agent deal with the Houston Texans, according to reporter Jordan Schutlz.

Hughes went to TCU to play his college football and he's a Sugar Land, Texas native, so going to Houston is a homecoming for him and his family. It's logical to believe he will finish his career with the Texans, which is very cool; even if Bills fans would have loved to see him end it in Buffalo.

Hughes will be 34 years old by the time the 2022 season arrives, and while he is not the player he was five years ago, he still has enough left in the tank to contribute to a team in a rotational role playing the edge on defense.
