For years, Bills Mafia has been begging the Bills to bring back red helmets, even for one game.  But Buffalo Bills legend Jim Kelly thinks this would be better.

The Bills have had the same helmet for years

It's been years since the Bills have worn anything other than their white helmets with the charging buffalo on them in a game.  The last time you saw anything different was in week 8 of 2021 when the Bills took on Miami and they wore the white helmet with the standing buffalo.

Josh Allen has teased us

If you're a big Bills fan, you may have noticed that over the years, Josh Allen has teased us.  It's become a bit of a tradition for Allen to come out in a different colored helmet before the red/blue scrimmage that the Bills have had for the last couple of years.  The first year he came out in a red helmet.  The next year it was blue and that one was pretty sweet.  This past year, the helmet was black.

He never wears it in a game.  He just wears it out at the beginning of the scrimmage, then he puts on a normal helmet to play.

Jim Kelly has his preference for an alternate Bills helmet

Jim Kelly was a guest on Eric Wood's "Centered On Buffalo" podcast this week.  Wood asked Kelly if he thought the Bills should bring back the Bills 90's throwbacks (the red helmet) for a game.  This was his response:

"Without a doubt!"  he said immediately. But he didn't stop there.  He went on to ask Wood if he had ever seen the blue ones and added that THAT was his favorite.    That one looked like this:

I have to admit.  Of all the new designs that he's shown us, this blue one is pretty sweet.  Which would you prefer to see them wear for an "alternate" helmet?
