After taking that penalty for jumping a late restart that cost him the lead last week at Dover, Jimmie Johnson partly made up for it with his 64th career victory and third this season with a dominating day at Pocono. The only thing that could beat him would be himself and he didn’t let that happen two weeks in a row. Johnson led 128 of 160 laps and easily beat Greg Biffle to the finish line to extend his points lead.

For Biffle it was his second Top 5 finish this season and after him it was Dale Earnhardt, Junior and his fourth Top 5 followed by Tony Stewart and Ryan Newman giving Chevy four cars in the Top 5.

There was just one caution over the first 125 laps, but five over the last 35 laps.

With the victory Johnson increases his lead to 51 points over second-place Carl Edwards and to 69 over third-place Clint Bowyer.

The schedule continues next week at Michigan.
