Jimmie Johnson took the checkered flag at Texas Motor Speedway but a it was marred by a brawl on pit road after the race.  Pit crew members prevented Jeff Gordon from confronting Brad Keselowski but Kevin Harvick was able to get to him and that set off a pushing and shoving match involving as many as 20 people until everybody could be separated.

Afterward Keselowski had bloody gouges on his forehead and cheek.  Gordon had a bloody lip.  It all started when Keselowski tried to ram his way thru a narrow opening between Gordon and Johnson on a restart, but in the process cut a tire on Gordon's car.  It forced Gordon back into the pits and to the back of a pack of a race he had dominated.

For Johnson it's his third straight win in the fall race at Texas.  Harvick was second followed by Keselsowski with Kyle Busch and Jamie McMurray completing the Top 5.

Gordon finished way back in 29th place.

As a result heading into next week's final Eliminator race at Phoenix Joey Logano has the points lead followed by Harvick, Ryan Newman and Denny Hamlin in the Top 4. Matt Kenseth, Carl Edwards, Gordon and Keselowski complete the list of drivers still eligible to advance to the final race in two weeks at Miami-Homestead.
