Jimmie Johnson won for the second week in a row and extended his points lead in the Chase for the Sprint Cup championship with two races left. Johnson led 168 of the 334 laps, but it came down to a series of restarts in the final 20 laps. Brad Keselowski took the lead in the first two, but Johnson got the edge in the last one with two laps to go and held on for his fifth win of the season to take a 7 point lead over Keselowski.

Keselowski’s finished second for his best career finish at Texas Motor Speedway.

Kyle Busch, Matt Kenseth and Tony Stewart completed the top five.

Two drivers were mathematically eliminated from the championship – Kevin Harvick and Dale Earnhardt, Junior.
