Kaiir Elam’s “Notebook” Won Over the Buffalo Bills [WATCH]
The 2022 NFL Draft is now complete and now we wait and see how these rookies look at minicamps around the league, including here in Orchard Park with the Buffalo Bills.
The Bills made some intriguing picks, including explosive running back, James Cook of Georgia, who should be a passing game threat.
Boise State wide receiver Khalil Shakir was maybe the Bills best draft pick in the 5th round and they drafted punter Matt Araiza out of San Diego State to begin the 6th round, who many Bills fans wanted.
To begin the draft, the Bills selected Florida cornerback Kaiir Elam.
The 6’1’’ cornerback is impressive in press-man coverage and has experience in zone coverage as well.
Elam’s father played cornerback in the NFL from 2006-2012 and Kaiir is clearly a student of the game who wanted this dream bad.
The Bills released a draft night “Embedded” video that showed Elam won the Bills over by showing Brandon Beane and Sean McDermott his Florida notebook, which highlighted mistakes he made in the game beforehand and what he wanted to improve on.
Barstool Sports tweeted out the video.
Nobody asked for it. Elam thought it was important to share and boy, was it ever. That is exactly the sort of stuff that Beane and McDermott absolutely love.
Elam was a need fit at cornerback. He was a scheme fit. He was also a DNA locker room fit. He screamed Bills player.
