One Buffalo Bills Player Looks to Be Traded Next Week
The Buffalo Bills won a game they had to have on Thursday night, defeating the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 24-18.
The game felt like the Bills' game the entire night but it still ended up being a one-possession game. The Bills played much better on offense; mostly in 11-personnel, with one tight end and three or four wide receivers.
Bills fans will be rooting for the New York Giants to beat the Jets on Sunday, and likely the Patriots to beat the Dolphins, so they can gain first place in the AFC East.
The NFL trade deadline is coming up at 4 pm on Tuesday, with the Bills among the teams that should be active. They should be a buyer.
However, there's one player on the Bills roster who is the most likely to be traded, according to a report from ESPN's Jeremy Fowler.
Fowler reports that there has been interest from teams in trading for former first round pick, Kaiir Elam.
The Florida cornerback was the Bills' first round pick in 2022. After an up and down rookie season, he has rode the bench for all but one game in 2023. He's been inactive five of the seven games and it looks like the coaching staff doesn't trust Elam to play on defense.
Dane Jackson and Christian Benford have been the starting corners, with Taron Johnson the nickel corner (and third linebacker). The Bills signed veteran Josh Norman, who played on Thursday.
The Bills should get what they can for Elam and move on. It would benefit both the Bills and Elam to get a fresh start. The draft pick didn't work and everyone can see it.
