Buffalo Bills Sign Another Star Defensive Player on Monday
The Buffalo Bills will be present at mandatory minicamp next week at One Bills Drive. The minicamp will last three days and every player must attend, unlike OTA's, which were voluntary.
The Bills roster is jam-packed with talent. It's hard to forget that even with the Bills' disappointing playoff run in January, they still have one of the two or three best rosters in football.
General manager Brandon Beane has done a terrific job this season adding to an already good roster. They lost Tremaine Edmunds and Devin Singletary, but they added the likes of Connor McGovern (G), David Edwards (T), Deonte Harty (WR), Damien Harris (RB), Poona Ford (DT) and Taylor Rapp (S).
The Bills added another major free agent on Monday.
Ian Rapoport of The NFL Network reports the Bills have agreed to terms with free agent Leonard Floyd. It's a one-year deal worth $9 million.
Floyd is an outside linebacker, who rushes the passer as an edge rusher. He has spent the last three seasons with the Los Angeles Rams, where Von Miller was his teammate in 2021.
Floyd is a former first round pick of the Chicago Bears in 2016 and despite being a disappointment in his time there, he garnered 9 sacks per season with the Rams and is younger than Von Miller.
This signing means that the Bills don't have to rush Von Miller back from his ACL recovery, while also adding even more depth to an already rich defensive front.
The Bills now have:
- Von Miller (edge)
- Leonard Floyd (edge)
- Greg Rousseau (edge)
- A.J. Epenesa (edge)
- Boogie Basham (edge)
- DaQuan Jones (DT)
- Ed Oliver (DT)
- Poona Ford (DT)
- Tim Settle (DT)
- Jordan Phillips (DT)
There is no excuse for the Bills not to have a top-three defensive line in the NFL this season.
