
Large “Explosion” Heard and Felt in Western New York
Residents in one Western New York community are waking up after hearing, and feeling, what some described as an earthquake and others called a possible explosion. According to reports from residents in the area, the incident happened early Wednesday morning.
At this time, there are no confirmed reports of an explosion, and officials have not released details about exactly what may have caused the loud boom and shaking sensation.
Reports Pouring In Around Hamburg, NY
Many people living near the Town of Hamburg area reported hearing a loud noise and feeling their homes shake early Wednesday. Posts quickly began appearing on local social media pages as neighbors searched for answers and shared similar experiences.
According to some reports, "it shook me out of bed. I jumped up and ran outside". Others noted, "No clue what that was but it scared the daylight out of me".
There were reports from as far away as Eden as well.
This was mentioned from a resident in East Aurora: "Heard/felt an explosion just now. 5:14 am. Rattled the windows even".
What Could Have Caused the Loud Boom?
Some residents reported seeing what may have been a meteor passing overhead as they were driving early on Wednesday.
