The summer months are here and it is time to get outside and enjoy all that Buffalo and Western New York have to offer!

The hot weather is talking a bit of a break as we enter the weekend. It looks like the forecast is calling for it to be sunny and comfortable for Saturday and Sunday.

But as we look ahead to the summer of 2025, health officials in New York State are issuing a warning about heat stroke and other hot weather dangers to avoid.

This past week the weather was a massive roller coaster of variety. We literally went from having a frost advisory on Monday morning, to a heat and air quality alert on Wednesday!

But the heat will be back to stay, eventually.

What Is The Concern In New York State This Summer?

When the kids are out of school, and the summer routine begins, we are all more distracted and short on time. However, now is the time to be paying more attention.

The National Weather Service posted the following on social media this week.

Even though you might think it is a quick trip in a store, or errand, leaving kids or pets or elderly in a hot car is very dangerous! Here is a reminder of what to have ready when it gets hot!
