All eyes are on Hurricane Erin as it passes along the eastern coast of New York State and is expected to bring strong winds and rip currents when it arrives over the next couple of days. There are Hurricane alerts and strong current warnings for multiple states and officials in New York are waiting to see what is next.

The National Hurricane Center is giving constant updates on the path that Erin will take and it looks like it will follow the coastline to Northern Canada before it moves away from land. This means those who plan to make a trip to a beach should be alert and pay attention to any warnings.

But how much will Hurricane Erin impact places like New York City?

For the most part, the majority of the rain and wind should steer clear as the National Weather Service indicated. "The rain and wind impacts continue to look to remain offshore for our area. However, some minor to potentially moderate coastal flood impacts remain possible for southeastern portions of our coastline towards Thursday and Friday".
