There are some reports that indicate a new start time may be coming for some schools in New York State.

As the fall rolls on, and we get closer to setting the clocks back, the school year is also well underway. Students, teachers and parents have settled in to the routine and looking ahead to the Holiday break.

But as we grind out the next few weeks of school, there is at least one school district that is eyeing up a possible start time change.

In Western New York, at a district outside of Buffalo, there are some talk taking place that are discussing the possible change. According to reports,Williamsville Central School District is looking to change its start times.

The district is looking in to the research that a later start time may actually be healthy for students as more sleep may help them.

According to the report from the Buffalo News, new times would go into effect in September of 2025.

We spoke to some residents and one local dad who feel that high schools should be later and the younger kids should go earlier. Currently most districts are just the opposite with their schedule.

This is going to be a busy fall for schools as we get ready for the Presidential Election. Many schools will have the day off as schools are used for polling places and the busy holiday schedule begins shortly after that.
