According to the National Weather Service, there is a massive amount of rain and wind that will hit portions of New York State this week.

The New York City area NWS says that this rain is good but maybe not enough to move the drought needle.

"We are expecting a widespread significant rainfall, mainly Wed night into Thu night. Not a drought buster, but it will help, especially with ongoing fire weather issues. Our rainfall forecast is around 1" to 1.5"

The western portion of the United States is getting more than enough rain and they are seeing flooding in some areas.
