Why 2004 Was A Turning Point For Taste Of Country

As the WYRK Toyota Taste of Country gets closer, we are remembering some of the incredible moments we've had at this show in the past. For the Taste Of Country 2004, it was the first time we held the show on a Friday night.

As we continued to plan these shows for the Taste of Country year after year, it felt like the acts were incredibly relevant. They've always felt like the lineup included stars who were on their way up. This year was no different as we welcomed this lineup:

Josh Gracin - National Anthem Only

This year has always stood out as one of my favorite years. I'll never forget Josh Gracin walking into that park straight off his time on American Idol in his dress blues to sing our National Anthem. It was such a fun time and it's when the Taste of Country really became a party, for me.

2004 was the first year that the Taste of Country was held on a Friday night

It was a big deal to move this show from a Sunday afternoon start to a Friday evening start at the time. It meant that a lot of people could finally enjoy the concert without having to worry about going to work the next day. The week was over and it was time to kick back and relax.

And we did.
