Memorable Moments From The 2006 Taste Of Country Festival

The 25th Anniversary of the Taste of Country is coming up. As we count down the days before the big show, we're remembering some of the lineups from the past and giving you some behind-the-scenes moments that you may have missed, even if you were at the show. In 2006, we were able to check out one of country music's all-time favorite artists, and ended up having a fill-in for one of our other acts.

This lineup was loaded with talent. Not only did we have some of the newest rising acts on the radio, but we also had some of the biggest names with some huge hits. This was the entire 2006 Taste of Country lineup:

It's the year that we all geeked out over Ronnie Milsap

For decades before he came to the Taste of Country, Ronnie Milsap was one of the biggest names in country music. He had tons of hits. Even people who were new to country music loved him. It was very easy to see how he could be one of the best entertainers that country music has ever seen. Once he sat down at that piano, people were almost in a trance. Then to have Mark Wills come out to sing a couple songs with him was a huge treat too. Not only for us, but for Mark. He came out to eat at the Buffalo Chophouse with us after the show and went on about how it was a huge highlight for him.

SheDaisy was down a member

SheDaisy was a trio of sisters (Kristyn, Kelsi, and Kassidy Osborn) and in the early 2000's were one of the hottest groups on the charts. We were excited to have them but we were a little nervous about what their set might look like when we found out one of the sisters, Kelci, was pregnant. Was she still going to perform? Would their trio be down to two? Would they have to cancel?

No, they didn't cancel. No, Kelci didn't perform. No, their trio wasn't down to two. Instead, their sister Karli was able to fill right in. They never missed a beat and sounded as good as ever.
