Proof That Mercury Retrograde Existed In Buffalo
Now that Mercury retrograde is over, many Western New Yorkers can breathe a huge sigh of relief.
For the past few weeks, Mercury was in retrograde, causing some Buffalonians to hide under a table and not want to come out, believing their lives were about to collapse into total chaos.
When others hear the term “mercury retrograde,” they roll their eyes and continue with their lives.
Why does Mercury retrograde cause so many Western New Yorkers to freak out?
What is Mercury Retrograde?
A few times per year, most recently from September 9th through October 1st, the planet Mercury goes into “retrograde motion,” aka it looks like Mercury is moving backward in the sky. This is an optical illusion because every planet takes the same journey around the sun.
The Farmers Almanac describes it like this:
“Picture two cars on the highway going in the same direction in different lanes. If one car is driving faster than the other, the slower car will appear to go backward from the perspective of a person in the faster car, even though the slower car is still going pretty fast in the same direction.”
Why are some people so afraid of Mercury retrograde?
Astrologers believe that when Mercury is in retrograde, it can severely impact our lives around us by causing breakdowns in things like communication, travel, and details.
Basically, the weeks during Mercury retrograde can feel like your life is collapsing around you.
Whether you believe in the impact of Mercury retrograde or feel like it’s all a bunch of nonsense, you can’t deny some things happened during the past few weeks that were a little strange.
