The weather for the month of December in Western New York has been a roller coaster. There's been seasonable weather, like last Wednesday with the couple inches of snowfall, but then there's yesterday and today, with temperatures in the 50's.

The weather is about to change again. Temperatures will continue to drop today and this evening as a cold front moves through, bringing heavy wind gusts.

A Wind Advisory is in place for Western New York through tonight, and after a quiet Friday, a messy storm is coming to the region for Saturday, according to WIVB.

For those who live near Lake Ontario, snow is likely to be the main thing to deal with for Saturday, while rain will be the case for the Pennsylvania border.

However, many places in between will have to deal with snow, sleet and even some freezing rain, which will make travel difficult at times on Saturday. There could even be some accumulating freezing rain.

Temperatures are back to what they should be next week, in the mid-30s with a few flurries around, so maybe (hopefully) some snow for Christmas Eve this year.

Freezing rain and ice storms are the absolute worst. 40 and rain is awful weather, and I would much rather take snow over that, but sleet and freezing rain is a nightmare for driving and makes stopping at every intersection a hassle. Hopefully this isn't too big of a deal this weekend.
