Report: Micah Hyde Wants Second Opinion on His Injury
The Buffalo Bills are three days away from their week 3 game against the Miami Dolphins at Hard Rock Stadium. It's the first divisional game for 2-0 Buffalo this season, and it comes against a 2-0 Miami team.
The Bills have dismantled their first two opponents (Rams, Titans), which has many considering the Bills to be the team to beat in thee NFL.
However, the Bills have now run into major injury trouble, mainly on the defensive side of the ball.
Buffalo had 11 players on the injury report on Wednesday and head coach Sean McDermott said that Jordan Phillips, Dane Jackson, Micah Hyde and Jordan Poyer won't practice on Thursday.
Hyde has not practiced all week with a neck injury, which he suffered late in the win against the Titans. Some optimism earlier this week may have gone away after an update on Hyde's injury.
The Buffalo News is reporting that Hyde is seeking another medical opinion out of the area, for his injury.
Hyde has missed all but two games in his five seasons with the Bills, which started in 2017. He's been paired with Jordan Poyer since then as one of the best safety tandems in the NFL.
This game against Miami is important, especially considering it's a division game against a 2-0 team and the fact the Dolphins have Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle as wide receivers against a young Bills secondary...but if Hyde's injury ends up being serious, that puts a dent into the Bills' outstanding defense, which has been the best D through the first two weeks in the league.
On Thursday, 12 players in total were on the injury report.
If Hyde, Poyer, Phillips and Jackson can't go, it may be a different kind of challenge for this defense against a red hot Dolphins offense.
