Mike McDaniel Withdraws From Bills Head Coaching Consideration
When it hit the news, people were saying it was easily one of the most desirable jobs available in the NFL. The chance to take the Buffalo Bills to the Super Bowl with Josh Allen seems perfect. You'd be immortalized in Buffalo. Now, at least one candidate for the job has said no thanks.
Mike McDaniel has withdrawn his name to interview for the Buffalo Bills head coaching job
Dianna Russini is reporting that former Miami Dolphins head coach, Mike McDaniel has decided to back out from being considered for the newly vacated position for the Buffalo Bills.
He was fired at the end of the season from the head coaching job in Miami, but since then has secured a spot as the LA Chargers' offensive coordinator. The only thing that would keep him from taking that position is if he was able to land a spot as a head coach somewhere.
According to Russini, he is still in the running to become the head coach in Vegas, but has bowed out from Buffalo and Cleveland.
Why would he have bowed out?
This is where the questions will start. Why did he choose to eliminate those two cities from his list of prospects? Was it just too cold there? Does he not want to be on the east coast?
Of course, you have to wonder if this week's infamous press conference with Brandon Beane and owner Terry Pegula had anything to do with it. It certainly did open up a lot of eyes about what might be happening behind the closed doors at One Bills Drive.
