A 4-year-old girl from New York, who went missing over two years ago, has been found alive. The young girl, who is now 6-years-old, went missing in 2019. Police located her under a staircase where she had been hidden in a home in Saugerties, which is near Albany. Police received a tip about Paislee Shultis' location. She was allegedly kidnapped by her non-custodial parents.

Police searched the home for about an hour before finding her. She was located in a makeshift room under the stairs leading to the basement.

Saugerties Police described how they located her,

"However, Detectives used a ... tool to remove several of the wooden steps, and that is when detectives saw a pair of tiny feet. After removing several more steps, the child and her abductor were discovered within. The space was small, cold, and wet."

She was found to be in good health and was reuinited with her legal guardian. Three suspects - Kimberly Cooper, Kirk Shultis, Jr. and Kirk Shultis, Sr., were taken into custody for kidnapping.

Both Shultis' were released on their own recognizance. Cooper had an outstanding warrant, so she was taken into custody in Ulster County.

I can't even imagine how relieved her family was to know she was alive and healthy. I'm glad she was found since many children who go missing aren't or they are murdered. Police in New York need help solving the homicides of the 7 cold cases below.
