Make-A-Wish has granted over 3000 wishes for critically sick kids in Western New York. This year alone the team is expecting to grant over 100 wishes. That is ONE HUNDRED kids who get to live out their dream after going the hardest part of their lives.

After talking with Ben and Bridget from Make-A-Wish WNY, we had to ask them what the most memorable wish ever granted was. A little boy who was sick wanted a drill press so that he could make his own bowling balls. Not only did he get his wish, he went on to bowl for one of the most prestigious college programs in the United States.

I thought it was important to note that over 80% of the kids that are granted wishes see adulthood.

Make-A-Wish does not receive any federal or state funding. They rely exclusively on donations from individual contributions, special events, corporate donations and sponsorships, foundation grants, workplace giving and planned gifts. All of the money stays right here to Western New York families. In-kind donations can be offering a service (hairdresser, construction, painting, etc.) or donations like toys, gift cards, cameras, luggage, etc. You can help make a child’s life-changing wish come true. Wish families are your friends, neighbors, and relatives. They need your help. Help us reach every eligible child in our community.

Wishes have proven physical and emotional benefits that can give children with critical illnesses a higher chance of survival. Every eligible child deserves to have a wish to give them that edge in conquering their illness.
