I know there is good in the world but most days it is hard to see.  There isn't a day that goes by that I don't see some sort of horribleness. The other day walking back from lunch outside of the Rand Building two people were yelling at each other at the bus stop.  I have no clue what inspired the nastiness but it wasn't pleasant to see at all.  Then there is social media where people think its a big playground meant for bullying others. Why are people so angry all the time?  Wouldn't it be nice if we could all just get along?

This Friday, June 1st is National Say Something Nice Day! The purpose of this holiday is to counteract bullying and the lack of civility and common courtesy that is growing among people in today’s world. I'm going to soak this day in and say nice things to people and see how they react. How can you observe National Say Something Nice Day?

  • Use #SaySomethingNiceDay to post on social media.  Then actually say something nice, or reply something nice to someones post.
  • Smile at the cashier at the grocery store and say thank you.
  • Tell someone they look nice.

Hopefully, the practice of saying something nice will continue past Friday.
