This cake debuted this past weekend at the Disney's Fairy Tale Weddings' Wedding Expo.

They say this is something that is going to take off being the new trend in weddings and over-the-top occasions. This is perfect for weddings, as the video textures can be customized to the wedding theme and can display photos of the bride and groom and messaging from well wishers, right on the cake!.

According to FOX, this is how they work:

“Augmented Reality Cakes” were patented by Disney in 2012 and allow for digital, high-definition animations to be projected on cakes.

 

Using the projector and motion sensors, a moving image or message can be projected on the surface of the cake.
