According to reports this week, a newly passed ordinance bans smoking and vaping in every park across the city. Anyone caught breaking the rule may face a fine up to 250 dollars. Repeat offenders could also be sent to jail for 15 days.

I grew up in a house in which both mom and dad were smokers. The way we looked at smoking back in the 70's and early 80's was much different than it is in 2020. I do remember the smell of smoke on my clothes and the lingering smell of smoke in the house. As a matter of fact, I to was a smoker for awhile. It wasn't until I picked up running that I was able to get rid of the habit of smoking. Do I miss it? Every now and again, when I smell smoke, I do think about the days I used to smoke. It wasn't easy to move away from them but I sure do feel better without cigarettes.
