It starts today. The new speed zone and limit for portions of Niagara Falls Blvd.

According to Metro Source News:

The speed limit in the area between Interstate 290 and Tonawanda Creek Road is being lowered from 45 miles an hour to 40 miles an hour. Officials say the change is being made in hopes of reducing the number of pedestrian deaths.

Over the last five years, there have been six pedestrians killed on that stretch of roadway.
