New Tackle Football Law In New York State

It's football season and before your little ones start to tackle, the Governor wants you to be informed about the injuries that are possible.

The new law won't be in affect for this season. It takes affect in three months.

Governor Cuomo has signed legislation that requires teams to provide parents with packets of information describing the risks and potential for concussion in tackle football.

According to Metro Source News:

Governor Cuomo has approved a bill mandating the information be free to parents.  He says medical research on the long term effects on concussions and sub concussive hits continues to evolve and parents should be given up to date information.  This is mandatory for programs run by schools and leagues.
