New York One Of The Slowest States With Weekly Unemployment Recovery
As the COVID-19 impacts the entire Nation, a new study shows that New York State is one of the worst states when it comes to Weekly Unemployment recovery.
Wallethub.com released its latest finding on how states are recovering from unemployment claims. In the study, New York came in at 40th overall out of 51 in weekly unemployment recovery.
To identify which states’ workforces are experiencing the quickest recovery from COVID-19, WalletHub compared the 50 states and the District of Columbia across three metrics based on changes in unemployment claims
New York has had an increase of 940% of unemployment claims since the start of COVID-19 compared to last year.
There is some good news for New York. The state ranked 21st overall in total employment recovery since the start of COVID-19.
