Looking for Crock-Pot recipes?  Check out some of these that are traditional foods from cities in New York State.

The slow cooker or as many people know them - the Crock-Pot is the original "set it and forget it" appliance.  It's perfect for busy families who are going to be hungry for dinner when they come home from school or work.

If somehow you've never seen one or you just don't know how they work, the idea is pretty simple.  You can get them in just about any size these days.  It's a ceramic (or other metal-style) pot that sits inside of a heating element.  They heat at a low temperature, so you rarely have to worry about things burning and if you cook meat in them, it normally comes out very tender.  You can just load it up in the morning and let it work all day.  Then when you get home most of the hard work is already done.

This is the perfect time of year for a Crock-Pot too.  A lot of people make soups and chili in it, which are perfect choices when the weather starts to get cold but you can do a whole lot more than that.

While most of the people in New York have a similar way of life, a lot of the cities themselves have very distinct foods that they're known for.  We found Crock-Pot recipes for you to be able to make things like beef on weck, garbage plates, Spiedies chicken sandwiches, and more!
