It seems as though New York State is getting closer to a ban on a popular form of vaping.

Lately, I have noticed that I see fewer and fewer people smoking. In fact, when I see someone smoking, it stands out! The days of going to a party or bar and walking through a cloud of cigarette smoke are long gone.

But there are some who have traded in a cigarette for vaping and teens seem to be vaping in larger numbers. New York State is trying to change that.

According to recent reports, New York State's Attorney General is targeting the companies and stores that are targeting teens.

"Vaping companies have taken a page out of Big Tobacco’s playbook to get kids hooked on nicotine and fuel a nationwide youth vaping crisis".

As a former smoker, I know how hard it is to kick the habit of smoking. I am no expert in health, but I noticed a difference in the way I felt right away. I found that trading in cigarettes for a healthier habit worked for me. I started to run and train for 5k races.

There still is a part if me that thinks about smoking when I see or smell someone smoking. I grew up on a house where both parents smoked and I am not sure if that had anything to do with my choice to smoke. However, now that I have kids of my own, I am trying to make sure that they understand early the dangers of smoking and vaping.
