There are less than 30 days until spring and farmers across New York State are gathering this week to find new and innovative ways to keep their farms thriving. The largest farm show in New York State is back at the State Fairgrounds!

Did you know, that according to some reports, New York State has over 30,000 farms. For those who have never traveled across New York State, they might think that the state is similar to New York City. However, once you get away from the city, New York State is filled with some gorgeous, rural areas and some amazing farms!

This week, farmers from Western New York, to the Hudson Valley, will gather together.

You are invited to check out the 2025 edition of the New York State Farm Show in Syracuse! The show takes place from February 20-22.

According to a post on the Farm Show website: "Whether you need dairy and beef production tools, seed technology, or woodlot management solutions, this event offers everything to help farmers boost efficiency, increase productivity, and stay ahead in the industry".

There is no doubt that we all need to support our farming families and here in New York State, we are blessed to have many of them! According to the New York Farm bureau, 98% of farms in New York State are family owned!

Most people might think of a red barn and cows when it comes to what a farm is. However, as you will see at the New York State Farm Show, dairy farming is a portion of the types of farms we are blessed to have in New York. From maple syrup producers, to grapes, there are many ways that these farm families help to feed the residents of New York State.

To find out more about how has the price of gas changed throughout the years, Stacker ran the numbers on the cost of a gallon of gasoline for each of the last 84 years. Using data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics (released in April 2020), we analyzed the average price for a gallon of unleaded regular gasoline from 1976 to 2020 along with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) for unleaded regular gasoline from 1937 to 1976, including the absolute and inflation-adjusted prices for each year.
