New York State Eyes Massive Energy Changes In 2025
As the holidays roll in, and we look ahead to 2025, New York State is looking forward to some big changes that sim to make the state more energy efficient.
This past week, many parts of New York State experienced some of the warmest weather of the season. In fact, Halloween 2024 was a record setter for high temperatures in many parts of New York State.
But November is here and it is only a matter of time before the cold and snowy days return and 2025 will arrive. New York State has already made a few resolutions for the new year.
While the rumors about New York State going all electric have been swirling, there are some things that The Empire State has already put in place. In 2025, there is a goal to reduce the carbon footprint of the state even further.
According to the BuildSmart 2025 plan, "BuildSmart 2025 is an initiative that's helping New York State achieve its revolutionary energy goals to make it more affordable, cleaner, and resilient for all New Yorkers".
Led by Kathy Hochul, the plan for the new year and energy efficiency means that " the collective effort to achieve 11 trillion BTU of energy savings at state facilities by 2025".
The winter is closing in and with that comes the high cost of heating your home. Get ready for steady gas prices and, according to some, higher electric costs.
