New York State Puts Age Limit on Fantasy Football Leagues

It is that time of the year that everyone is about to do their fantasy football drafts and there is something to know if you are doing it on some of the betting apps--New York State now has an minimum age that you must be in order to participate.

It is that time of the year where you will see people having their Fantasy Football Draft parties around New York State.

For years fans have been playing fantasy football with their friends and family on certain apps like ESPN and Yahoo. Though there are now rules when it comes to other apps when it comes to playing fantasy football.

If you are doing Fantasy Football on sites FanDuel or DraftKings there are New York state laws:

• You must be 18 year old in order to do so
• New York State gaming commission will take 15% of the gross profits

Now, it is important to note that if you are just doing this with your friends, there are no real rules in New York State that mandate anything. (YET, at least LOL). I am sure it is only a matter of time where New York State tries to take a piece of that money as well.

The Buffalo Bills just had a public practice where fans were invited to the brand new stadium in Orchard park, New York and one fan had a sign that requested something from one of the Bills players. The sign listed all of the family members and friends that were in a fantasy football league and asked one of the Bills players to set the draft order for their fantasy league upcoming this year.
