New York State Issues Mid Summer Health Warning
The summer of 2024 is well underway and here in New York State, there is a new health warning from the Governor.
The weather this summer has been decent, for the most part. The hot weather we saw at the end of June forced many to stay indoors, in the air conditioning. However, the Independence Day holiday, graduation parties and weddings have brought many together and that is the concern.
Although the COVID numbers are not what we saw years ago, New York State is still watching and monitoring.

According to reports, New York State's Governor, Kathy Hochul, is reminding people of the dangers of COVID.
Governor Hochul says with the increase of social gatherings during the summer months and high temperatures forcing people indoors, its important to take precautions against the virus.
On the New York State website, it was noted that: "New York State Department of Health Commissioner Dr. James McDonald said, “We are seeing an increase in admissions to hospitals, yet below prior year increases. As people move indoors to escape the heat, transmission does increase.
I have spoken with many people who have had COVID like symptoms this summer. Many of them had allergies that were worse this year than most and, in some cases, that developed in to a sinus infection.
As we get to the halfway point of July, the sun is as intense as ever and there is also a new reminder to wear sunscreen and skin protection when you enjoy the outdoors.
