The gas prices have gotten higher and higher over the last few weeks here in New York State. The prices in portions of Western New York have jumped as much 15 cents over the last week!

The gas prices are hard to deal with for everyone but really hurts if you drive a bigger car or truck or SUV. However it is what some lawmakers in New York State are dreaming up that may be the final straw for those who drive a bigger vehicle.

You have to wonder if lawmakers just sit around and think of ways to make residents mad. The registration fees and taxes are already expensive in New York State. Those fees could be going up again and again the bigger the car you drive.

The price of everything is getting crazy. Can you imagine what the shipping and delivery companies are going to have to charge to keep up with the gas and registration fees in New York State IF these are pushed through?

As we watch the summer fade and the back to school season get started, paying higher prices for gas is going to sting families more and more.

As for fees related to traffic laws, there may be a new change in store. New York State may be installing speed limiting devices in various cars.

New York State is no longer joking around with repeat offenders when it comes to speeding. In fact, there is a device that they are proposing to be used and installed in your car if you are someone who gets pulled over for speeding on a regular basis.

According to reports, State Senator Andrew Gounardes and Assemblywoman Emily Gallagher want a speed limiting device to be installed in offenders' vehicles.

Under a bill proposed by state Sen. Andrew Gounardes and Assembly Member Emily Gallagher, drivers who receive six speeding tickets and red-light camera violations, or four speed camera or red-light violations, in a year would have to install the device, ensuring they could not exceed the speed limit by more than five miles per hour.
