It was back on November 9th that the Buffalo Sabres announced that they had a new mascot. "Rick" the dog was adopted by the Buffalo Sabres and he has become an instant superstar with fans.

Rick is part of the Pawsitive for Heroes with WNY Heroes. He's an 8-month-old Newfoundland who was rescued by the Niagara SPCA and will do his training with the Sabres before being matched up with a Veteran in need.

Rick is also named after Ledgneary Buffalo Sabre play by play man Rick Jeanneret who is in his final year calling games for the Sabres.

Yesterday, the Buffalo Sabres announced that since Rick was such a huge hit with the Buffalo Sabres fans, he got his own jersey.

Check it out, I assume all dog lovers will want one of their own.

The Rick jerseys and t-shirts are available at the Sabres Store which is open Open Monday - Friday, 10 am - 5 pm and Saturday from 10 am - 4 pm  and it is open for all
Buffalo Sabres home games.

No word yet from SabreTooth if he is working on something new to combat the wave of "Rick" love that is sweeping across Western New York.
