This week’s Hometown Hero is currently living his dream as a soldier. Originally from Attica, our Hometown Hero is 26-year-old Army Specialist Nicholas Steck!

Nicholas is a 2007 Graduate of Attica High School. He joined the Army while still in school with the delayed entry program. In 2008/2009, Nick had a 15-month deployment to Iraq and a 9-month deployment to Afghanistan shortly after returning from Iraq.

When he was only 3 years old, Nick asked his mom if he could be a solider someday. Now he has been living his dream for seven years (active duty)...and Nick has just extended his contract for the second time and is very proud to call himself an American soldier!

Thank you, Nick, for your dedication to our country and your community from everyone here at WYRK. We are proud to call you this week’s Hometown Hero!

If you would like to nominate someone who is currently serving our country or has served in the past, click the button at below. We will choose a new Hometown Hero each Friday. If their name is chosen, we will not only feature them on WYRK.com, but we’ll be sure to thank them for their service on the air and dedicate the first song on Noon Tunes to them.

Once again, thank you to Army Specialist Nicholas Steck, our Hometown Hero of the week!
