It’s time once again for our Hometown Hero, with help from our friends at WNY Heroes who help us with our nominations every week.  This week, our Hometown Hero is from Alden, NY.  From our United States Navy, it’s Navy Petty Officer 1st Class Michael Mack!

Mack is an Alden High School class of 2000 graduate who serves on the USS George Washington, currently dry-docked in Newport News, Virginia. He serves as an aviation support equipment technician is responsible for performing maintenance on aviation support equipment, mobile firefighting units, material handling equipment, and anything that comes in contact with an aircraft.

He says, “Serving in the Navy means serving my country and the opportunity to do something bigger than myself,” Mack added. “I get to wake up every day and work at a job that I love doing.”

This week, we are honored to name Michael Mack our Hometown Hero of the week!
