We’ve all heard the word "geothermal" but what the heck does it mean?  How can it help you and how can it save you money?

I'm a little in the dark about it all, myself.

Now is a great time to learn more about heat pumps and geothermal energy because 1) New York States offers rebates for the installation of new ground-source heat pumps, and 2) my friends at NOCO Energy Corporation are offering a free seminar about geothermal options at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 25 in the Bogel Room at Hilbert College.

Here's a good video explaining the basics of geothermal heating and cooling systems, including how they have zero emissions and how they cost less to operate and maintain than other options:

It seems like every year, we grumble about energy cost increases, and often consumers feel helpless to make significant changes to how they heat and cool their homes. The experts at NOCO are ready to explain how you can heat your home without consuming fossil fuels or worrying about carbon monoxide leaks — and while getting a little extra room back in your budget.

If you’ve ever thought about changing the way you heat and cool your home, this is the perfect opportunity to get those questions answered. Head on over to that free seminar (freshments provided, and you can register here), and if you have questions in the meantime, contact NOCO's geothermal specialist:
