Now You Can Tip Your Uber Driver Using the Uber App

Uber has held out until now on allowing customers to simply tip their Uber driver using the same app they use to pay them.

I've used Uber a few times and thought it was strange that I wasn't able to tip using the app but instead would need to hand the driver cash at the end of the ride.

Uber had stuck to the theory that tipping added more steps and complicated the experience.  That will now change says Uber.  In order for a driver to receive a tip from a rider on the app, they will need to re-install the Uber-Driver app.
