The Buffalo Bills are now on week three of training camp and also have one preseason game under their belts as they get closer to the start of the 2021 regular season, which will be just under four weeks from today against the Pittsburgh Steelers at Highmark Stadium.

The Bills have gotten through the first part of training camp relatively healthy, although there are a few concerns.

One is wide receiver Stefon Diggs, who is battling a knee injury. Bills head coach Sean McDermott said as of now there is no concern the injury will linger into the regular season, but seeing Diggs on the field in Chicago on Saturday isn't likely.

Another Bills starter that has not been back to full speed is left tackle Dion Dawkins.

Dawkins was placed on the COVID-19/reserve list at the start of camp. The good news is Dawkins was recently taken off the list, however, Dawkins still has a long ways to go to help the team according to McDermott.

“He’s not close to where he needs to be to play and help us so he’s got a long road here,” said McDermott.

Not having Dawkins ready to go is a big blow and right now, it seems mostly uncertain when he will be ready to go for the Bills and in game-condition.

The Bills just locked up franchise quarterback Josh Allen to a six-year contract extension worth $258 million, so having his franchise left tackle is very important to protecting him.

Here's to hoping Dawkins is ready to go for the regular season, but the way McDermott worded how he was doing, it doesn't sound promising.

I would be fine sitting Allen the entire preseason. It's not worth the risk.
