This week’s Hometown Hero is Airman First Class James Demmin from Sanborn. James has been serving in the U.S. Air Force since 2009 and is so dedicated to serving our country that he volunteered to take someone’s place in the deployment to Kuwait.

Unfortunately, due to an unforeseen circumstance, he was not able to be deployed.  However, he currently helps his father and mother around the house and holds a full-time job doing roofing and siding over 50 hours a week. When he has drill, sometimes he works 12 days in a row with no time to sleep in. He enjoys spending time with his family and two dogs, going out mudding in his truck and blasting country music.

If you would like to nominate someone who is currently serving our country or has served in the past, click the button below. We will choose a new Hometown Hero each Friday. If their name is chosen, we will not only feature them right here on WYRK.com, but we'll be sure to thank them for their service on the air and dedicate the first song on Noon Tunes to them.
