Parade Magazine’s 50 Best Food Festivals Includes Buffalo Wing Fest

Eat Your Way Across America, 50 States, 50 Fabulous Food Festivals - that's the cover story of this week's Parade Magazine.  State by state it lists the best celebrations of food across the United States and New York State's entry was Buffalo's own Wing Fest.  With 71,000 people attending last year's Wing Fest buffalowing.com consuming 500,000 wings with some 100 different sauces Parade says, "now that's something to cluck about."

Some of the other festivals included Gilroy, California's Garlic Festival, Wellfleet, Massachusett's OysterFest, Suffolk, Virginia's Peanut Festival and one in Hope, Arkansas that sounds like fun - the Hope Watermelon Festival.  There's watermelon-eating and seed-spitting contests, plus a melon toss and melon bowling.
