Vital PWC Law Is Now Active In New York State
The weather has been ideal to be on the water in New York State this month. There is still plenty of time to enjoy the lakes that we have in the Empire State and still time to take your boating course.
The forecast is calling for a few storms to roll through and the end of July and beginning of August should be pretty nice for boating!
If you plan to be on a personal watercraft, you'll need to have your certificate.

According to New York State law, you must complete the required courses and obtain your certificate even if you are operating a personal watercraft.
A report from Syracuse.com said: "Brianna’s Law requires all operators of motorized vessels, including personal watercraft, to carry a boater safety certification card with them".
I was taking in a sunset along the Erie Basin Marina in Buffalo, New York this week and noticed how many PWCs are in the water these days! It looks like so much fun and the though of getting one crossed my mind. However, with four kids under 9-years-old, that might not be a good idea. But a boat, like a pontoon, might be more useful for our family. We have a camp that is not far from Lime Lake and that seems to be a good fit for a pontoon!
Be safe and have a fun summer! Before we know it the discussion will be about making sure our snowmobiles are registered.
