Just a day after a plane crash in Western New York, New York State Police reported that a plane was forced to land on the New York State Thruway.

The reports came in late Friday afternoon and had social media buzzing.

According to a report from the New York State Thruway Authority, it was a small plane that landed on the Thruway, near Albany.

" ALBANY: A small plane landed on the northbound Thruway (I-87) between exits 22 and 23 in Albany. Emergency responders are on scene. The right lane is currently closed. Proceed through the area with caution".

On Thursday, police and fire officials responded to reports of a fatal plane crash in East Aurora, New York. The plane was discovered to be fully engulfed in flames and the pilot, who was the only person on board, was killed in the crash.

The investigation, and reports from the scene, made it known that the plane crashed near a house owned by Buffalo Bills offensive lineman, Dion Dawkins.
