It was one of the coolest, humbling moments in live television and I had to keep rewatching this! It was the most emotional CMA Awards in recent memory. In the wake of mass tragedies across the United States, including Las Vegas, where 56 people were killed in the biggest mass gun violence attack in American History during a Jason Aldean-headlining festival, the opening number was tribute.

Eric Church began singing 'Amazing Grace' with no music and only a spotlight beaming on him in a dark arena.

After the first verse, Darius Rucker and Keith Urban kicked off the Hottie and the Blowfish hit 'Hold My Hand'.

Joining the duo were Lady Antebellum and just when you thought the song was about the wrap up--heavyweights in country music came from behind the wall to sing the 'Hold My Hand' chorus, including Tim McGraw, Faith Hill, Kelsea Ballerini, Brooks & Dunn, Reba, Thomas Rhett, Little Big Town and more.
