BREAKING NEWS: Gas Prices Surpass Record High In New York
Not the news most of us wanted to hear as we woke up this morning, but according to AAA, a new record high price for a gallon of gas has been set here in New York.

According to the AAA website, the average price of gas in New York is now $4.36 per gallon which shattered the old record of $4.27 which was set back in 2008.
The cost of a gallon of gas jumped 10 cents overnight to blow past the previous record here in New York State.
The current National average for a gallon of gas in the United States is $4.17 per gallon with Califonia paying the highest price for a gallon of gas at $5.44 per gallon while the lowest price is in Oklahoma at $3.17 per gallon.
Here in New York, you will find above-average gas prices in the Eastern part of the state. St. Lawerence, Hamilton, Washington, Rockland counties are just some of the counties that are reporting average gas prices above $4.36 per gallon.
In Western New York, the average prices are slightly below $4.36 per gallon with prices near $4.31 in Erie County, $4.26 in Niagara County, $4.20 in Cattaraugus County, and $4.28 in Chautauqua county.
The highest average for a gallon of gas in New York State is in Putnam County at $4.48 per gallon.
The average price of a gallon of gas jumped nearly 50 cents over the past week in New York State and the cost of a gallon has risen near $1.50 per gallon since 2021. Last year at this time, an average gallon of gas in New York cost around $2.83.
Diesel prices also continue to rise with the average price for a gallon of diesel costing around $4.99. The record high for a gallon of diesel was set in 2008 at $5.13 per gallon.
