Get Ready To See A Fan Favorite Helmet On The Field In Buffalo This Year
There has been a lot of speculation about what helmet and uniform combinations various NFL Teams will use this year. This was especially true when the NFL announced its new Rivalries program for the 2025 season.
Under Rivalries, division rival teams would use new and exclusive uniform and helmet designs to highlight the history of competition between the teams. These could be specially designed uniforms, throwbacks, or other unique combinations.
In Buffalo, there has been a consistent drumbeat for years for the Bills to bring back one unique item to the team's uniform, and now the Bills have announced that this dream is in fact coming true for the 2025 season.
Red Buffalo Bills Helmet Making A Return To The NFL
Starting this morning with a tease from Buffalo Bills Chief Operating Officer Pete Guelli, the Buffalo Bills have just announced that the historic and classic Red Charging Buffalo helmet will make a return to the field during the 2025 NFL Season.
In 1984, the Buffalo Bills introduced the Red Charging Buffalo Helmet, which became famous for the team during the 1990s Super Bowl years. The team used this helmet until the 2011 season, when they changed to the white Charging Buffalo helmet that we've seen in recent years.
Now, as part of the final season at the original Highmark Stadium, the Red Helmet will make a special appearance.
The Bills will wear their red helmets for the Week 18 game against the Jets to celebrate the final regular season game at Highmark Stadium, allowing fans a chance to relive the nostalgia before Buffalo opens new Highmark Stadium next year.
