Stevie Ray Vaughan was one of the best guitar players of all time. There have been so many stories about his appearances in the Western New York Area. I remember hearing about him playing at places like The Long Branch in Elma and The Belle Star in Glenwood. Both of those bars are long gone. But the legends and stories about them have been passed down to the next generation of blues and music fans.

This video of Stevie Ray Vaughan surfaced recently and shows him playing a show at The University at Buffalo in 1984.

Since we can't enjoy live music in person yet, videos like this one are a great glimpse in to what some might call the glory days of rock and blues. I would think that just about anyone who has ever picked up a guitar has aspired to play the way that Stevie Ray Vaughan did.
