Sean McDermott Absent from Buffalo Bills Training Camp Today
The Buffalo Bills are three days away from the annual blue vs. red scrimmage at Highmark Stadium. We're 11 days away from the Bills first preseason game, which will also be played at Highmark Stadium (Indianapolis Colts).
The team has avoided major injuries through the first week of training camp, although defensive tackle Tim Settle was absent from practice on Tuesday, along with quarterback Josh Allen missing the remainder of 11 on 11 drills, due to some sort of foot ailment (he was hit or stepped on during 11 on 11 drills).
Another development on Tuesday was the absence of head coach Sean McDermott.
According to Alaina Getzenberg of ESPN, Bills head coach Sean McDermott was absent from practice on Tuesday. That was because of a personal family matter but that the expectation is that McDermott would return to the facilities by later this afternoon.
We're hoping everything is okay with McDermott.
The Bills have some pretty intense position battles going on at camp, particularly at the mike linebacker spot, where Tyrel Dodson, A.J. Klein and Baylon Spector have been taking first team reps. Rookie Dorian Williams will stay at the will linebacker spot, behind Matt Milano.
Veteran Dane Jackson has been in a battle for the second cornerback spot with second-year pro Kaiir Elam, with Taron Johnson at the nickel corner spot. After that, you have Christian Benford and Siran Neal, with Neal expected to be a main contributor on special teams.
Getting closer to another season of Bills football.
